Abstract:
This session provides an overview of the mission of the Executive Council for Education (ECE), which is to oversee athletic training education, enhance professional and post-professional education, and influence best practices. The presentation outlines the previous ECE structure and the challenges it faced and showcases the realignment that allows for a focus on diverse representation and project-driven work.

Michelle Odai, PhD, LAT, ATC
Dr. Michelle L. Odai is Chair of the Department of Athletic Training in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Florida International University. She is responsible for the day to day operations of the department, which consists of the Doctor of Athletic Training (DAT) degree program, Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) degree program, and the Athletic Training Services Clinic on campus. She also serves as the Director of the accredited MSAT program.
Dr. Odai holds several leadership positions including Chair of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Executive Council for Education and Peer Review Chair for the CAATE. She has received multiple grants from the NATA Ethnic Diversity Advisory Committee and takes great pride in the uniqueness, diversity, and success of the MSAT and DAT programs.
