

Kyle Scharer, MS, LAT
Kyle Scharer is a nationally certified and Wisconsin state-licensed athletic trainer who joined Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin in 2011. He currently serves as Ambulatory Manager for the Orthopedic Service Line, supporting supervisors who oversee the day to day operations at each of the Service Line’s four locations. Prior to this position, Kyle spent two years as the Operations Supervisor for the Orthopedic Service Line, and three years working as an athletic trainer within the primary care sports medicine program. A former high school baseball and football athlete, Kyle combined a love of sports with an interest in medicine, earning a bachelors degree in Athletic Training and Clinic Management from Bowling Green State University in 2005. While at BGSU, Kyle completed an internship with Toledo Mud Hens baseball organization. With an emphasis placed on concussion management and emergency care in sports medicine, Kyle obtained a masters degree in Exercise Science from the University of Georgia in 2008 while also serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for the UGA softball program. He went on to serve as an assistant athletic trainer at East Carolina University, working primarily with football and men’s and women’s tennis. Prior to starting his work at Children’s, Kyle completed a residency program with UW Health Sports Medicine in Madison, Wisconsin, aimed at transitioning athletic trainers to the physician practice setting.
Outside of his work at CHW, Kyle serves as an independent consultant to the NATA’s Third Party Reimbursement Initiative through Orthovise LLC, serving as the operational lead supporting the initiative. Additionally, Kyle has been an active participant for several years within the Physician Practice Workgroup, which is a subgroup of the NATA’s Committee on Practice Advancement. When not at work, Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife and chasing his 3 sons & all of which are under the age of 6 years old.
