Melissa Snyder is an Associate Professor and Athletic Training Clinical Education Coordinator at Western Carolina University. She earned her undergraduate degree in Athletic Training from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse; she completed her masters in Exercise Physiology and PhD in Kinesiology from the University of North Carolina – Greensboro. 

Her research interests are in evidence based pedagogy, inclusive excellence, and communication. Melissa’s clinical specialties are performance enhancement, spine, neuro, and public health. She serves on the ATEC Planning Committee and the Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers' Associations LGBTQ Advisory Committee
