Rachel Geoghegan, DAT, LAT, ATC
Dr. Rachel Geoghegan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Athletic Training at A.T. Still University in Mesa, AZ. She recently joined the faculty at ATSU after nearly 20 years of full-time clinical practice in the college/university setting at a variety of institutions including Boston University, Gonzaga University, Idaho State University, and Newberry College. While at Boston University she developed a contemporary clinical expertise in Primary Care with a particular interest in pelvic health and female health conditions.
Now as a full-time academician, these areas of clinical expertise inform her research interests. Dr. Geoghegan still lends her clinical expertise on a PRN basis locally in the Phoenix area and nationally through direct consultation. Dr. Geoghegan began her journey as an educator by serving as a preceptor for a number of institutions across the country. After realizing how fulfilling educating and mentoring the next generation of healthcare providers is, she earned her DAT from ATSU in 2020 to build upon the knowledge and skills she could impart upon learners and patients. As a full-time educator at her alma mater, she strives to enhance the quality of care her students are able to deliver to their patients.
