Jay Albright, MD
Jay Albright, MD, is double board certified in both Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery and Orthopedic Sports Medicine, and currently serves as the Surgical Director for the Sports Medicine for Young Athletes Program in the Department of Orthopedics at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Dr. Albright earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and then went on and earned his medical degree and completed his orthopedic surgical residency at the University of Iowa. Dr. Albright completed his fellowship in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery at University of California San Diego and completed his fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine Surgery at the Cincinnati Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Center.
Before joining Children’s Hospital Colorado he served as the Director of Sports Medicine at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, Florida and in 2013 Dr. Albright was selected to participate in the AOSSM international traveling fellowship tour. Dr. Albright is extremely active in the youth sports community and actively sits on the International Board for Rush Soccer and is a Hall of Fame Physician for the Orange County, Florida School District for his care of Evans Maynard High School.
His research interests include maximizing outcomes for ACL injuries and reducing re-tear rates, particularly in the female athlete. That includes gait analysis post-injury ACL and post-surgical ACL. Additional interests include the description of surgical technique for reconstruction of the medial patellofemoral ligament, cartilage regeneration and resurfacing, reduction of pain symptoms after surgery, and the overall prevention of sports injuries.
