Secondary School Mental Health Preparedness FAQs

What is a microcredential?
A microcredential is a short, focused learning experience that allows you to demonstrate competency in a specific topic area. Upon successful completion, you’ll earn a digital badge to showcase your achievement.

How is this different from a regular CEU course?
Unlike one-time CEU courses, this microcredential includes multiple modules, formative assessments, and a summative assessment to ensure understanding and application. It is a more robust, skill-based learning experience with a verifiable credential upon completion.

How do I access the microcredential?
After purchase, log in at educate.nata.org, click on Course Dashboards, then select My Dashboard to find your registered microcredential.

Is the course self-paced?
Yes. All content is asynchronous and can be completed at your own pace within the designated time frame.

How long will I have access to the course?
You will have access for 12 months. Please complete all requirements within this period to receive your digital badge.

What do I need to do to earn the microcredential?
You must complete all course modules, pass the assessments, and meet any other course-specific requirements. Once complete, you’ll receive your statement of credit and a digital badge issued by NATA and the Board of Certification (BOC).

Do I earn CEUs for completing this microcredential?
Yes. You will earn CEUs upon successful completion, in accordance with BOC requirements.

What is a digital badge, and how can I use it?
A digital badge is a verifiable, shareable credential that recognizes your completion of the microcredential. You can add it to your email signature, LinkedIn profile, resume, or digital portfolio.

What if I have trouble accessing the course or completing a module?
Please contact ki@nata.org or use the help features on educate.nata.org. Our team is here to support you.

Can I retake the assessment if I don’t pass the first time?
Yes. You will have a maximum of three opportunities to complete the final assessment. If all three attempts are unsuccessful, the microcredential will be marked as failed and will remain in your dashboard until its expiration date. Additional attempts will not be granted. However, once the microcredential package expires, you will have the option to repurchase if you wish to retake the modules and reattempt the final assessment.
