This course explores conflict management and includes Interviews with three well-known leaders of the NATA who have significant experience in dealing with conflict and controversial issues. Conflict is defined as: any situation where your concerns or desires differ from another person (Harrelson, et. al 2009). Conflict that is avoided by leadership may result in a multitude of negative consequences. Thus, the purpose of this course is to explain the positive benefits of using effective conflict management strategies, to identify types of conflict that leaders may be confronted with and to discuss strategies to manage conflict.
