Postural orthostatic hypotension syndrome (POTS) is an autonomic dysregulation condition characterized by excessive tachycardia upon standing in the presence of orthostatic intolerance. POTS is becoming more recognized across populations including active individuals and athletes. The sports medicine professional needs to have a comprehensive understanding of the recognition and management of this condition. The emerging body of knowledge regarding hip pathologies has rapidly grown in the past decade. New classifications and clinical testing for intra-articular and extra-articular hip pathologies have been developed. Often times, there is a gap between the growing body of research and clinical practice creating a disconnect.
